Well hello there. Apparently I am slammed in my 29th year of life (thus far). This is definitely a good thing ( I am not complaining - just 'splainin' why I have neglected my little ole blog). One of the things I have been working on is a nursery for TRIPLETS. Now how many of you can say that you've ever designed a nursery for triplets? I am honored and so excited. The wee ones should arrive sometime in May. (we hope!) If anyone has any questions about nursery bedding, lighting, cribs - just ask! I have done lots of research in the past few weeks....
A few nurseries I found for inspiration...(sort of). The point is, just because it's inhabitants might only weigh a few pounds, have zero teeth and not much hair does not mean they deserve less than something totally chic and fabulous! After all, aren't these first few months very formative in terms of how the REST of their lives are shaped? I am thinking if you expose them to such beauty at day 1 they acquire a sophisticated palette in no time!
MOD BABY....
Hippie (probably Austin) baby...
The plan for the D to the 3 nursery - two girls (identical!) and a boy. Please note that we have since changed the layout and the boy will not be crammed in the corner(!) - that was my original sketch and they will now be all together.
I found these A-DORABLE sconces at Jonathan Adler a few weeks ago in NYC. I wish we had a place for them - 2 much. Giraffes that face each other..
I also zipped into ABC to look for a stylish chandy...
This one was precious but we probably shouldn't give the poor boy a complex.
As you can see, the plan for D3 is quite "sophisticated traditional" - but had I been on a mission for a modern nursery, we would be in luck. This shop in SoHo had precious mobiles....

...and way funky slash fabulous striped drum shades..
So if I were having a "mod" baby, here are a few thing I found that I just love. Then, of course you deal with the idea that your kid may be cooler than you are, but whatever. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree I guess.
This fixture from Stray Dog....THIS RUG from Paul Smith. So yummy.
This crib is probably the cutest thing since I don't know WHAT - "Cabana Canopy Crib" from duc-duc. Someone PLEASE get this! Kirk, Tate?? The canopy comes in 9 different colors.
and of course you'll need something to rock the little bambino in - Eddy Rocker by duc duc.
You can even feed your child a la Jetson's style with this apparatus from Bloom...
